Welcome

If you’re having a hard time or need assistance with a challenge, I am here to lend a helping hand. I am an experienced Senior Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist BA (Hons.) DHP DSFH HPD CNHC MNCH(Reg.) supporting adults online and in person for anxiety and stress in Queen Square Bristol, Clifton Bristol, and in central Bath, UK.

Over 11 years, I have enjoyed working with people from various backgrounds in public and private sectors, helping them to feel more empowered and confident. I have experience helping individuals improve their performance in specialised areas of psychology, such as sports and the visual and performing arts including TV and theatre. This includes addressing problems such as fear of public speaking, managing stress, anxiety, stage fright, and building confidence.

I am grateful to have been able to contribute to the recovery of individuals who have gone through medical trauma, assist in preparing for medical procedures, and support the rehabilitation of those who have been injured in competitive sports. I have assisted individuals suffering from disorders and conditions that are exacerbated by stress and anxiety, such as shy bladder syndrome, IBS, and voice disorders such as Spasmodic Dysphonia. During the pandemic, I was fortunate enough to assist essential workers in coping with stress and anxiety.

I practice Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. SFT is a collaborative approach that combines psychotherapy and hypnosis. The therapy is practical, short-term and goal-focused. SFH incorporates SFBT, CBT, mindfulness and positive psychology principles and practices to help clients instigate change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. By equipping individuals with resources and tools, they can feel more in control during what is often a difficult time in their life, or feel like they are better equipped to deal with a specific challenge like a medical procedure, court hearing, or giving a presentation, which can often feel overwhelming.

In case you are encountering a tough situation or need assistance with a challenge, rest assured that I am here to offer support.

Increased awareness of ADHD
There has been a notable increase in ADHD diagnoses in adults, partly due to more awareness in the media and on social media channels. If you think there might be a possibility that you have ADHD, the first point of contact (in the NHS route) is usually to speak to your GP. Your GP will not be able to formally diagnose you there and then, but they can discuss your concerns and refer you to a specialist to undergo an assessment if you’re keen on this. Please email me and let me know if you’d like me to signpost you to a list of Psychologists, Psychiatrists and ADHD clinics that specialise in screening, diagnosing and treating ADHD.

“I feel relaxed and more confident and I don’t experience the periods of high stress that I used to. I’ve learnt some techniques for managing and conquering my fears, a permanent lifestyle change and not a temporary quick fix. Thanks to Annette, I have my anxiety under control for the first time.”
