The first step is to book a comprehensive consultation and assessment which includes a Guided Meditation MP3 produced by an award-winning BBC Radio Producer and supporting resources to take away with you which forms an integral part of subsequent therapy.
Each session lasts 55 minutes, called ‘The Counselling Hour’, and the number of sessions required is ascertained in the first appointment, with 9-12 being the normal requirement. Hypnotherapy combines modern, evidence-based, clinically proven therapeutic techniques (talking therapy) with Hypnosis (trance) to help people make positive changes and improve their quality of life. It is a safe, enjoyable, proven and effective method that is used to access and harness the power of the subconscious mind. It is within the subconscious mind that our automatic thoughts, habits and beliefs are held. These drive our decisions and shape our lives – the way that we choose to see ourselves, and our reality. Thanks to a process called Neuroplasticity or brain plasticity which refers to the brain’s ability to change throughout life, we can strengthen and grow new pathways.
Whilst we are in trance, our brains are optimally primed for plasticity, enabling positive new connections to form and create change in our thoughts and behaviours. Hypnotherapy is a collaborate effort, working together in partnership to make positive changes and to achieve agreed goals. This is achieved through talking therapy and hypnosis which enables, and empowers you to bring about the positive changes and positive outcomes that will help you to manage stress and anxiety more effectively.
This process isn’t about ‘fixing’ anything; you are not broken. It is about helping you to get to a more comfortable place where you can better manage difficult thoughts, feelings and emotions that are part of the human experience.
Using Solution focused hypnotherapy, a modern research-based combination of hypnosis and psychotherapy, this can help promote relaxation and achieve beneficial lifestyle changes. I use a blended discipline of Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness, CBT, NLP, ACT and Positive Psychology.
Hypnotherapy is a safe, reliable method of treatment for many problems, has no harmful side effects and is suitable for just about everybody. Hypnotherapy is effective; however, results may vary, and success is not guaranteed. Full client commitment is important.

It is advised that you consult your doctor before engaging in complementary or supplementary therapy, including Hypnotherapy. If you are seeking help with anxiety or stress and have a medical problem, Hypnotherapists work as an addition to your medical team and it’s always best that you check with them first before embarking on a course of Hypnotherapy.
Your sessions are not recorded, and no photos or screenshots are taken and I politely ask my clients to honour this agreement.
